Life Style Of Junaid Iqbal
My name is Junaid Iqbal and I am an investor and entrepreneur. I was born in Karachi city, this is where I did all my schooling. I got my first job in America in an energy company in American Electric as an analyst and Later, while working as a trader, I developed a very strong analytical grounding. It was always in my mind that I had to return to Pakistan. I had come to Karachi to renew my visa. On the request of my mother, I met Jio for 3 hours.
America Journey
He told me to leave everything in America and come here and start Pakistan's first live stock market show. After some time, when I went to CNBC, that too was a tremendous experience. My role was Anchor and Head of Research in CNBC. Every day during power lunch, the CEO of a listed company used to come to my show and the real learning started when the show was over, I used to tell him, will you stay for some time to have tea and I was a young person at that. Time and I used to ask questions to all these leaders from all over the world and for me it was such a tremendous free learning experience but after a few years in the media, I started getting a little bored and I had this feeling that why am I a news breaker? Why should I not try to be a news maker? Well, at that time, many asset management companies had come to Pakistan, so at that time I got the idea that why not I should create a financial products distribution company, let's say a financial product supermarket.
Pakistan Stock Exchange Journey
I pitched the idea to three different companies to invest for many reasons that work, the one where I felt I could learn the most was BMA Capital in a way that was my first startup experience and company leadership experience in which I got a chance to work as a CEO in this way. I had a very deep attachment and connection with the Pakistan Stock Exchange. In those days, wherever I went, whether it was a marriage or a life or death, someone would come and say that Junaid Brother, please give some stock tip, one day I got a call that have you heard of and they want to launch in Pakistan and they are looking for country MD and CEO and they heard your name in two-three conversations and they want to meet you.
Careem Pakistan Journey
Only one thing came to my heart and that was that if Careem works in Pakistan then we will create 10000 jobs. I love listening to music and there is a whole range from Khan Saheb to Bob Marley and I also keep trying to learn music. And I try to play the guitar as well. I play with a band as well. Every day from 7:00 to 12:00 Cancer is spewed on TV and unfortunately we, a part of the majority population, are fascinated by all this drama.
There are lakhs of people in Pakistan who wake up every morning with positivity and confidence and are building their businesses whether it is a small shop or a small brand or a big factory. People are moving forward with the dream and they are ignoring all the noise and moving forward with passion. Shark Tank Pakistan is the story of those people. My advice to young entrepreneurs is to do what clicks
